Textbook in the collection of the African American Schoolhouse Museum in Worton Point, MD.
This textbook was in use during the 1950s and 1960s in Kent County schools. A book in the “Alice and Jerry” series (similar to the “Dick and Jane” books of the time), this reader was written for a fourth grade audience. One of the students who used this particular textbook, Samuel, practiced his cursive signature on the book’s cover and front page.
